Behind every great man there is a great woman, or so the saying goes. It was certainly the case with L.D.Porta. Many steam enthusiasts rightly believe they owe a great debt of thanks to L.D.Porta for the work he carried out during his lifetime. However equally worthy of all our thanks is his wife Ana who did so much to support and help him. His work would not have been possible without her and that fact deserves to be recorded here. Thank You!

On August 2 2003 'The Guardian', a UK 'broadsheet' newspaper, published an excellent obituary of L.D.Porta. Click here to read it.
