Photo Galleries & Trip Reports
This section of my site covers two areas: UK Mainline Steam and my various World Travels.
I first saw steam on the mainline in 1985. Back then I had a 110 format camera so the image quality wasn't the greatest. However it wasn't long before I went up in the world to a Yashica FX-D 35mm camera. I also acquired an old Rolliecord and sometimes used my Dad's Mamiya C220. In 1994 I bought a Mamiya 645 Super and this is the camera I still use today. In addition in 2003 I added a Casio QV 5700 digital camera to my equipment, replacing this in 2006 with a Fuji FinePix E900. Over the years, and when I didn't know better, I have used a range of different slide films but have now settled on Fuji. I normally use Astia. For my black and white I have always used Ilford film. The only black and white I now use is XP2.
Click below to see photographs and details of the places I have been lucky enough to visit in the last few years. Most, but not all, photographs are railway related. However it has to be said that despite railways having taken me to most of these places it often the non-railway bits that have made the real lasting impact on me - such as the wildlife in Africa and the Great Wall of China.
