And still more painting and TPWS work! And a lot of other small jobs along with one heavy one. However this week the inspection bodies are due at Tyseley for two full inspections - one with the engine cold and the other with the engine in steam. Assuming all goes to plan test running up and down in the yard at Tyseley can than, finally, commence.

The support coach is equipped with a shore supply socket. The reel for the cable had been damaged so a new one, which had first carried wiring for the TPWS, has been substituted. September 25 2004 |

More painting - fiddly bits and the like are about the only things to do to finish the painting on the loco. On the coach finishing touches are also being applied.
On the loco there are still a few reassembly jobs to complete but nothing major remains to be done.

During the week the repaired superheater header was put back in the smokebox allowing things to start to go back together again.

Naturally painting of the engine has continued with lots of the lining completed, the cylinders top coated and the same for the outside live steam pipes.
